If you have ever been in charge of organizing someone’s cremation services in Seattle, WA after they pass on, it might start you to thinking about what will happen when you pass on in the future. Who will arrange your final services? What will they base their decisions upon? While it’s hard to think about your own death, it can be a comfort to know you will be in good hands when that time comes. Here are a few people that make take on the task of planning your final services in the future.

The Person You Married

If you are married, that person will automatically be the one that everyone looks to when the time comes to plan your final services. They knew you best and they are the person who will have the final say on what happens. You might want to share with them if you have any final wishes for your services and you should ask them what they want for theirs as well.

Your Kids

If your spouse dies before you, the responsibility of your final services will then move along to your children, if you have any. They can work together, if you have more than one, to get the final services in order. Once your spouse passes on, it’s a good chance for you to talk to your kids about what you are doing for that special person as well as what you want done for you in the future when you follow them in death. You can spread the plans out among your kids or let them figure it out when the time comes.

Whoever You Choose

Whether you are married and have kids or not, you can choose who makes your final service plans. You will want to talk to that person, tell them that you want them to make the plans when the time comes, and put that information in your will as well. If you have any wishes, they need to know about it so they can make the best possible plans for you when the time comes.

You Can Make The Plans

You can also plan your own final service plans ahead of time, if you want. You can make the plans with a funeral home and get everything laid out. Not only is it a nice way to ensure that you get whatever you want for that time, but it’s a nice way to relieve your family of burdens. They don’t have to worry about guessing at what you wanted when the time comes. They don’t have to make plans at all because the funeral home you chose already has those plans in place.

If you would like to plan your own cremation services in Seattle, WA, the professionals at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel are here to help you with those plans whenever you want to move forward. We can give you the options now and then let you think on them for as long as you need in order to be ready.
