Charles Allyn (Chuck) Bailey passed away on March 31, 2018 after a valiant fight against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born in Tacoma Washington July 9, 1941 to Charles and Ruberta Bailey. His family later moved to the Tri-Cities where they operated and toy and hobby store. Chuck graduated from Kennewick Senior High School in 1960. He attended Columbia Basin College where he met his wife, Shirley Ogden. He graduated from Central Washington University in 1966 and married Shirley on July 2, 1966. He started working for Boeing shortly after and the couple moved to Puyallup and later to Maple Valley and finally to Lake Tapps Washington. He worked for Boeing for 32 years, retiring in 1998. Chuck was always interested in electronics and Radio-Controlled model airplanes and boats. He earned his pilot’s license and built and flew his own airplane. Chuck was also an avid sailor, both racing and cruising his sailboats. He won Tacoma Yacht Club’s Boat of the Year award in 1982 in his J30 Sorceress. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles Allen Bailey in 1969 and his mother, Ruberta Bailey in 2015. He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, his son Charles (wife Shannon Fraser), daughter Tammi Ryan (Keith Lambertus) granddaughters Caitlin Smith, Mackenzie Bailey, Zoe Tonthat, Sarah Abed, grandsons TJ Ryan and Casper Pineda.
