Col. Rebecca J. Garcia, Ret.
July 17, 1954 – January 9, 2014
Rebecca “Becky” was born in Lake Charles, LA, but soon moved with her Air Force father & mother, to Riverside, CA Becky graduated from Rubidoux High School in the Riverside Area. Following graduation & various moves and job changes, Becky enlisted in the USAF at Los Angeles, CA in 1976. Entering as an Airman and being of a restless nature and a sponge for knowledge, over the next 31 years she rose through the ranks to retire as a full Colonel in 2007.
She, her husband Tom & son Jeremiah made their retirement home in Federal Way, WA. Soon, she was “back on the job” and working for Boeing.
Becky had more interests than most people, she learned to play the harp and to weave just to mention a couple of things. She turned out many beautiful pieces which were handed out as gifts to friends & family alike. Her Air Force career took her around the world where she absorbed many cultures & took what turned out to be albums full of photos of her travels.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Mona Marie Bradley and John (Jack) William Lindsay. Left to cherish her memory & celebrate her life are her husband, Tom, her son Jeremiah, one brother, Brad Lindsay, her Auntie June and Uncle Chuck Motheral, various cousins & many friends from various organizations & affiliations.
Rebecca was proud of her service to her great country and through her actions & dedication made her country proud of her.
Rest well “Dragon Lady” until we meet again.
