Mr. Craig Winn Cole, age 75, passed away after a battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on June 7, 2018 at Valley Medical Center.
Craig was born the youngest of six boys on November 14, 1942 in Preston, Idaho, to the late Ethel (Winn) and the late Ervon LeRoy Cole. He enlisted in the Army in 1964 and became a member of the 577th Engineer Battalion, spending the next four years in active duty serving his country, including a tour of duty in the Vietnam War, and three more years in the Army Reserves. Hardworking by nature, he worked for Paccar for 16 years. He then worked in structural testing for Boeing before retiring in 2016 after 30 dedicated years.
Craig, always generous, kind, and sometimes stubborn, was the beloved husband of Joyce Cole. He is survived by his stepson, Roger; stepdaughters, Sheila and Teresa; grandchildren, Keyna, Lindsay, Anthony, Shai-keesa, Avi, Krissana, Sky, and Starr; and great-grandchildren, Faith, Cyrus, Ethan, Kylee, and William.
Craig was a true American patriot and gun enthusiast who loved camping and the outdoors. Although independent by nature, he found community as an Elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and as a member of both the Fraternity of the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends and family members are welcome to attend the funeral service on June 20th at 12:00 p.m. at Edline-Yahn Covington Funeral Chapel, 27221 156th Avenue Southeast, Kent, Washington, 98042. Military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, Washington, 98042.
