Dennis Lee Butts

August 12, 1951 ~ November 15, 2018 (age 67)

Dennis Lee Butts was 67 years old when he passed away at the VA Hospital in Seattle from myeloma.  He was born in Waterloo, Iowa and lived the last 21 years in Auburn, Washington.  Dennis had been retired for the last 5 years but worked as a chief maintenance engineer for 30 years for hotels in the greater Seattle area, the first being Inn at the Market.

Dennis loved to travel and go on cruises.  He loved to explore the cruise ship and talk to other passengers from all parts of the world.  He also loved to camp using his travel trailer with his wife of 31 years, Debbie Yates and his sisters and brothers, Nancy Osburn, Cindy Rue, Phyllis Maxwell, Mike Butts, Eric Butts, Bruce Butts and Jimmie Butts.  He loved Las Vegas and spent at least one week each year there, more if he could. 

He is also survived by two sons who live in Wichita, Kansas, Darrell Butts and Patrick Hays.

There will be a celebration of Dennis' life at the Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Home, 27221 156th Avenue SE, Kent, WA Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11 A.M. with a graveside service right after at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, Washington at 1 P.M.
