Esther Horlick Gens was born April 30, 1918 in Bronx, New York. Only twelve days shy of her 100th birthday, she died April 18, 2018 in Tacoma, Washington. She was remarkably extroverted, a great storyteller, and loved to sing. She was a World War II veteran of the Army, where she was a data processor. Esther cofounded the North Valley Jewish Community Center in Granada Hills, California, and was a regional and national officer of B'Nai B'rith Women.
Esther is survived by her sons Robert Horlick of Auburn, Washington and Richard Horlick of Marlborough, Massachusetts, her grandchildren: Jeremy Lawrence, Tanya Lynne Horlick, Alex Chase, Holly Chase, Shawna Chase, and Jessica Tucker, and six great-grandchildren.
