David F. Torchia

On February 28, 2021, David F. Torchia, loving husband and father of three children passed away at the age of 87 in Leesburg, Florida. David was a retired US Air Force Lt. Colonel.

David was born on October 4, 1933 in Hudson NY to Josephine (Stella) and Santo Torchia. David is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rose Hatch, and his predeceased wife and mother of his three children, Carole Anne (Lombardy). David is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Torchia, his two daughters, Sandra Joanne Mezger (William), Daveanna Tiedemann, and his son, John David Torchia. David was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

David will always be remembered as “The Weatherman.” He appeared on KSTW, Tacoma, WA for 16 years. David was also an atmospheric science instructor for 24 years, at Pierce College, Fort Steilacoom WA. David will be interred with full military honors with his wife Carole Anne, at the Tahoma National Cemetery on September 7, 2021. He will forever remain in the hearts and memories of all who loved him.
