Dorothy Madelon Olson was born in Seattle on 11/12/1927 and peacefully passed away in Covington on 1/30/2021. She was 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Olson.
She worked at Boeing for many years both on the production line and ending her career in the planning office. During Boeing’s down years, she worked in retail. She and Kenneth were married for 58 years when he passed away in 2004.
Dorothy loved to fish. She and Kenneth spent many hours on their lot in Westport surrounded by friends and family and fishing for salmon on her son’s boat. And, she would fish in any lake that was rumored to have trout. Dorothy camped with her family on Hood Canal during shrimp season, harvesting not only shrimp but clams and crab, too. She had fun bowling and was in a league when her kids were young. She enjoyed growing roses and keeping her yard in pristine condition. But, her best times were spent with her grandkids: shopping, fixing Swedish pancakes for breakfast or making a mess of her kitchen while creating Swedish bread for special occasions.
Dorothy is survived by her son David Olson (Linda) of Maple Valley; her daughter Teri Tandy of Covington; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held when it is safe to gather.
