The family of Joseph Avolio, Jr, of Renton, is saddened to announce his passing on September 9, 2021, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was 91 years old.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie (née Pasche); Children: Steven (Michelle), Mark (Bonnie), and Kathy (David Riggs); Grandchildren: Michael (Trinity) Rossi, Quinn, Evan and Holly; Great-Grandchild: Coraline Rossi, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Born in San Diego, CA, he grew up in the Seattle area, and graduated from Renton High School in 1948. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then went on to graduate from the University of Washington with a BS in Electrical Engineering. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Pasche. Joe went on to support the US Navy at China Lake, CA, and then worked at The Boeing Company for 33 years in the Seattle area. He was a Charter Member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Renton, and he enjoyed family, reading, hiking, camping, dining out, travel, sports, and his computer.
A Memorial Service will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church,18207 108th Ave SE, Renton, WA, on October 4th at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to King of Kings Lutheran Church, Nature Conservancy, or Lutheran World Relief.
