Lois Colasurdo Obituary

Lois Colasurdo died peacefully on Thursday July 2,2020 at the age of 83. She was a loving wife, mother of three children, grandmother of three grandchildren and a trusted friend to many.

Lois was born on August 26th,1936 in Brockton, MA to James and Lillian (McNaughton) Tupper. When Lois was 19, her mother passed, and the loss was deeply felt. Lois spoke often of her sister, Theresa, and that their bond as sisters helped them cope and build happy lives. Fulfilling her promise to her late mother, she completed her Education Degree at Bridgewater State College. While teaching at Otis Airforce base on Cape Cod, she met James Colasurdo. They married April 28,1962 and she began to build the life she wanted to lead with her husband. They relocated to Seattle Washington where they raised three children, Matt, Katie, and Nina.

Lois was devoted to her family and friends.

As important as family was to Lois, her friends were dear. Lois was blessed with life-long, rewarding friendships. Lois remained close with her childhood friends her whole life and made new friends in her adopted hometown Seattle. There were trips to Cape Cod to share the beaches once again with the friends of her youth, none will forget the group's sense of humor and resulting laughter. Throughout Lois’s life she collected a wide range of friends from all backgrounds. She was the friend you could turn to when you needed an advocate, an understanding ear, or pragmatic advice. Lois loved to laugh, and she was gifted with a great sense of humor. She had many hobbies - sewing, founder of her quilt group, an avid reader, spoke the French language and she explored cooking various cuisines.

Lois’s most treasured role was wife, mother, and grandmother. Lois cooked fabulous dinners that were shared as a family. She took time to be attentive to family health, arranging and shuttling family to activities while sharing her values. She lived the example of volunteering. Lois volunteered for the Catholic Church. She delved into volunteering teaching immigrants English and life skills. Lois was delighted to be a grandmother and was happy when sharing her wisdom with the next generation.

Her love lives on in all of those that survive her. Lois is survived by her husband James, her three children Matthew, Catherine Harshbarger (Warren), and Christine. Her grandchildren Benjamin, Joseph, and Emily Harshbarger. Her sister Theresa (Ray) Boucher and her Nephews Andre (Lisa) Boucher, and Marcel (Jan) Boucher. Also extended family and countless friends who will forever miss her. Funeral arrangements are pending.
