Louise Estrada Obituary

Louise Marie Estrada

1925 - 2020

Louise Marie Estrada passed away April 16, 2020 from complications caused by the Covid-19 virus.

Louise was born in August 1926 to Andrew and Gladys Ecker in Aberdeen, WA. As a child she enjoyed many happy weekends, holidays and vacations with her Grandparents in McCleary, WA. She had a lifetime love of the ocean and enjoyed beach combing, digging razor clams and camping on the beach with family.

She graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen in 1944. She spent an exciting year in Los Angeles from 1944-1945 but returned to Aberdeen to marry a high-school friend, Robert “Choppy” Estrada. He was the love of her life and they were married for 73 years. The newlyweds spent a year in Walla Walla then returned to Aberdeen and had four children. Robert’s job with Associated Grocers took them to Burien, WA in the early 1960’s. Louise worked at the GSA in Auburn, WA from 1976 until retirement in 1988. Through the years she developed into an expert crafter. Along with that hobby she was also an accomplished tap dancer and clogger. Family gatherings were always capped off with a round of dancing. She loved to dance.

Retirement took them to St. George, UT, Fountain Valley, CA and back to Auburn, WA. Louise is survived by her husband Robert and her daughters Sherri Andrews, Cindy Conwell, and Suzy Heineman, along with numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Terry Estrada, her parents, and her sister Donna Koopman.
