Manuel Arabos Obituary

Manuel Bauzon Arabos, a veteran of Vietnam War and resident of Lynnwood, WA, passed away on August 31, 2022 surrounded by his wife of 48 years Tita Arabos, children, and grandchildren.

 

Manuel was born on July 27, 1943 in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, Philippines to Daniel + and Antonia Arabos +.  Manuel was the youngest of 8 children.

 

Manuel was recruited and enlisted in the US Navy from Sangley Point, Cavite, Philippines on April 14, 1967 as a Mess Management Specialist. The US Navy had given him the opportunity to see the world. While stationed in Wisconsin he applied for his US citizenship and became a naturalized citizen on November 19, 1979.  Manuel retired on January 31, 1988 from Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii and moved to Yigo, Guam to be closer with families in Guam and Philippines.  After retiring from the US Navy, Manuel worked for 10 years as a Federal Employee at Naval Base and Anderson Air Force Base, Guam.  Since retiring completely from federal service;  he decided to devote himself in caring for his wife and children as the main cook and chauffeur for the family.

 

Manuel married the former Enriquita “Tita” Bato on September 2, 1973 at Dagupan City, Philippines. Blessed with 5 children; Minnie Lissa, Ruby Rosa, Cherry Ann, Marietta Fe + and Manuel “Boyet” Jr.

 

Manuel enjoys spending quality time with his wife, exploring different restaurants, playing slot machines at the casinos, and watching movies. His favorite movies are all James Bond movies. As the head chef for the family, he pours his love and care in cooking for his family, relatives, and friends where his culinary skills he learned from the US Navy shines. Manuel is always there for his family and friends; willing to help in any way he can. He is a selfless man; always making sure his loved ones near or far are comfortable and their needs are met first before him.

 

Manuel is survived by his wife Tita, daughters Minnie Lissa Arabos of Lynnwood, WA, Ruby Rosa Arabos Austria of Lynnwood, WA, Cherry Ann Arabos Galera of Chula Vista, CA, son Manuel “Boyet” Arabos, Jr of Everett, WA, son-in-laws Sergein Austria and Abdon Galera, daughter-in-law Jennifer Terry Arabos, grandchildren Emmanuel Jared Galera, Jenuel Mae Arabos, Manuel Jericho Arabos III, Ethan Diego Galera, Anton Carlos Galera, Angelo Christian Austria; and sisters Sylvia Arabos Basto of Hawaii and Mercedes Arabos Terre of Mangaldan, Philippines. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Antonia, siblings Vicente, Ambrosio, Simeon, Rosita, Romana and his daughter Marietta Fe.

 

His family has organized a funeral service to honor Manuel’s life and military service.  Memorial service and viewing will be held at the Edline-Yahn and Covington Funeral Chapel, 27221 156th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98042 on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 22301 58th Ave W Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043 on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Interment will be held at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St Shoreline, WA 98155 on September 16, 2022 at 12:00 pm.  A luncheon reception will immediately follow the funeral service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church Social Hall, 22301 58th Ave W Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043.
