Wesley Hjalmer Obituary

Wesley Hjalmer, (98) beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, went to be with his savior on December 22, 2021.   He is survived by: his daughters, Terri (Gary) Frashefski and Lynn (Jerry) Strom; brother John (Kay) Hjalmer; grandchildren Tonja (Jef Rettmann) Reischl, Bryan (Paige) Reischl, Jonathan Reischl, Jeralyn (Jeremey) Twombley, and Kyle (Shannon) Strom; 10 great grandchildren; Sister-in-law Lois Simundson; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by:  wife, Phyllis Hjalmer; parents Fred and Hildur Hjalmer; brothers Dennis (Cleo) Hjalmer and Glenn (Ellly) Hjalmer; sisters Delores (Don) Erickson, Dotty (Mac) MacFarland and Pat (Roger) Stavig and great grandson, Eli Reischl.

Wes was born on October 25th, 1923 and was raised in White Rock and Rosholt, South Dakota. He joined the Army in 1943.  After a long stay in the military hospital following an airplane crash while on a training mission, he settled in Seattle where he met and married Phyllis Hilborn.  Together, they gave their two daughters a wonderful life, cherished their extended family, built many, many friendships, worked hard, played endlessly (golfing, cards, bowling, traveling) and remained faithful to God.

We miss him dearly but so much of him will live forever with us in our hearts.  We are thankful to God for the wonderful blessing that he was to all who knew and loved him.
